Vancouver Filmworks is seeking community volunteers to help organize our nonprofit film production company in the Portland, OR | Vancouver, WA metro.
Do you want to be part of a vibrant filmmaking community and contribute in producing feature length narrative films while working side by side with Hollywood veterans? Yes, you do. Here are the available positions and qualifications:
Assist with public relations and promotional works for Vancouver Filmworks and our production titles. Background in film marketing not necessary but who doesn’t love movies? Excellent writing skill is a must.
Help manage and regularly update the Vancouver Filmworks and our production title sites. Work closely with Producers on various levels of production. Big plusses: experience in interactive, graphic, or web design and knowledge in HTML.
Help execute production of Vancouver Filmworks fundraising and special events. Coordinate logistics with sites, vendors, and sponsors. Assist with day-to-day office operations.
Tech Production Assistant
Assist with tech support ranging from digitizing, DVD/blu-ray disc burning, on-line up and down-loading, some editing. Troubleshoot codecs, connectivity and electronic synchronization. Experience with AVID, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro or other non-linear editing platform and/or Photoshop a BIG plus but will train on job.
Responsible for maintaining and establishing relationships with various community organizations, universities, schools, and clubs for special/promotional events.
Responsible for the accreditation of all filmmakers, industry and guests of fundraisers and special events. Arrange all hotel and flight accommodations for filmmakers/guests as deemed necessary. Edit and update the filmmaker/industry packet.
Special Events Coordinator
Research, plan and organize Vancouver Filmworks fundraisers and after parties.
Recruit, train, manage volunteer staff throughout production.
– Volunteers with a genuine interest in Filmmaking, the arts, community building, and/or humanities
– Detail-oriented with a keen sense of organization
– Ability to work independently AND as part of a team
– Familiarity with Mac and PC platforms, social networking applications and Microsoft Office suite
– Able to commit 5-10 hours a week
– BIG plusses: Knowledge of film/video production; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress platform, and proficiency in HTML/CSS/PHP.
