The PSU Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program is accepting applications for the 2015-2016 program year. Applications are due on Monday, May 4, 2015 for the program cohort that starts in January 2016 and runs through August 2016.

The Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program works with motivated and talented undergraduates who want to pursue PhDs. Through academic seminars, the program introduces PSU juniors and seniors, who are first-generation and low-income, and/or members of under-represented groups, to academic research and to effective strategies for getting into and graduating from PhD programs. Scholars work closely with faculty mentors on original research projects.
Undergraduates in ALL majors are encouraged to apply.

The Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Program is funded by a five-year $1,155,000 grant from the US Dept of Education. Portland State University provides cost-share funds over the same five-year period.
