“From Book to Big Screen”

The Master’s program in Book Publishing at PSU is excited to invite you to a public event titled “From Book to Big Screen.” Please join us this Thursday, May 15, at 7:30 p.m. We’ll be learning about the mysterious and exciting process of adapting books for film.

We have some great panelists lined up, including:

  • Charles Deemer, an esteemed screenwriter, playwright, author, and PSU screenwriting professor.
  • Fiona Kenshole, a literary agent, former editor and publisher, and former Vice President of Development Acquisitions at LAIKA (the studio responsible for Coraline, ParaNorman, and the forthcoming Box Trolls).
  • Brendan Wright, Associate Editor at Dark Horse Comics and alumni of USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.
  • The panel will be moderated by Michael Clark, a PSU Associate Professor of English and Coordinator for the Minor in Film Studies at PSU.
The event will begin at 7:30 p.m., and will take place in room 102 of the University Pointe building at Portland State University. This event is free, and open to the public—so feel free to bring friends!
