PSU Film Alumni Updates

Allison Higginbotham received her MA in Film and Television Studies at University of Warwick in Coventry, England where she focused on the intersections of new media and network television.

Vincent Caputo is at the University of Chicago’s Master of Arts Program in the Humanities, specializing in Cinema Studies.

Film grad Bryn Hubbard (’09) completed his MFA in filmmaking at Florida State University in 2013. He currently is working on productions in L.A.;

Stephanie Hough is an Education Program Coordinator at the Northwest Film Center. Her film “HEART” screened at the Portland International Film Festival in the Oregon shorts program. Stephanie also was interviewed on KBOO’s The Film Show alongside Kimberly Warner and Oscar nominee Irene Taylor Brodsky

Mark Baker works as a videographer for Multnomah County.

Vanessa Berntsen is a technical support engineer for Netflix in their global escalations division.

Jon Garcia’s fourth feature film, The Falls: Testament of Love, had its world premiere at the Portland Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, and it currently is screening at tilm festivals around the country:

Julie Nakama, PhD student at the University of Pittsburgh, has been awarded the Richard C. and Barbara N. Tobias Dissertation Fellowship towards work on her dissertation about fashion and costume in 1960s Hollywood film. Julie also was awarded the A&S Dissertation Research and Development Grant by the university so that she can conduct research at the Margaret Herrick Library in Los Angeles.
