The Community Action Partnership of Oregon (CAPO) is a non-profit anti-poverty organization based in Salem. We support a network of organizations across the state to help Oregonians out of poverty. We work in collaboration with a variety of partners, representing local, state and federal governments, as well as community and advocacy groups, policymakers and low-income leaders. Community Action agencies deliver an array of low-income services including housing programs, food assistance, youth and senior services, and energy assistance. One of these programs is the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
LIHEAP is a federally funded program through the office of Health and Human Services. We are working on a short training video to help standardize the processes and procedures that are used to qualify clients and verify their eligibility for the LIHEAP program. Clients looking for energy bill payment assistance go through a brief “intake” process. Ideally, the final product will capture this intake process in a concise training video that can be distributed to Community Action agencies across the state.
We are looking for a creative video director to provide filming and editing expertise to this project. The student will be responsible for production tools and post production, but will not be responsible for job-specific training content. This project is an ideal opportunity for a student trying to build their portfolio would be particularly valuable for a student who is also interested in social services and low-income advocacy.
We are happy to work with students to gain academic credit and further their academic pursuits. Interested students should contact Paul Hawkins directly. To apply, please include a current resume. Thank you!
